Reviewing the Cookbook A Taste of Murder By Jo Grossman and Robert Weibezahl

I love trying new cookbooks and reviewing them. I’ve done a few of these on my blog, and I had a blast doing them. A Taste of Murder is filled with recipes from contemporary mystery writers. I like reading mysteries so I was excited to find this cookbook. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find the pictures of the fixed food that I took but here’s my thoughts on all the recipes that I tried!

Sausage-Cheese Appetizer by Bill Crider- I did not like this recipe. It was very dry and hard to eat. I will definitely not be making this one again.

Electric Lemonade by Paula L. Woods- This was pretty good! It does have alcohol though, just a heads up.

Spaghetti Angelica by Aileen Schumacher- This was a pretty good recipe! It has mushrooms in it, which I don’t like, so I did leave them out.

Freni Hostetler’s Chicken and Dumplings by Tamar Myers- This was pretty good, it just needed more seasoning since it was pretty bland.

Harry James Denton’s Killer Jack Daniel’s Marinade by Steven Womack- This was a good marinade. We’ve made this recipe quite a few times now and really like it.

Saturday Night Special by Louise Hendricksen- This was amazing! Very yummy and easy to fix.

Nellie V.’s Hush Puppies by James D. Brewer- These were amazing! So tasty!

Crumb Potatoes by Carol Cail- This was good! I did read the recipe wrong and sliced the potatoes (they’re supposed to be left whole). I did need to put more seasoning too.

Boiled Cookies by L.L. Thrasher- These were gross. They were very dry and just not good at all.

Parker Dann’s Bitchin’ Good Brownies by Chris Rogers- These were good. I did use the wrong chocolate, but they turned out good. I also did not make the frosting for it, just because they didn’t seem to need it.

Those were all the recipes I tried from this cookbook! I typically try more recipes, I just wanted to go ahead and get this cookbook done with so I didn’t have the time. Thank you so much for reading! Until next time.
