Imperfect Foods

What is Imperfect Foods?

Imperfect Foods is a service that delivers fresh but imperfect produce and other products to your door at a fraction of the cost of a grocery store. They are a company that tries to stop food waste and instead works with a variety of partners to utilize the “damaged” goods. The also have meat, grains, drinks, and more.

Why should you try it?

Besides saving money, Imperfect Foods help out the farmers that grow the produce. Not all produce is “perfect” and Imperfect Foods helps reduce a lot of the food going to waste. Products that the super markets won’t sell is the same way. There’s nothing wrong with the product, it just doesn’t live up to the standards that grocery stores use.

Imperfect Foods in convenient in that the box is delivered to your house. There is a cold pack and the box is insulated to keep your produce fresh. If you don’t have time to go to the store, Imperfect Foods sends enough produce to keep your household fed for about a week.

There are different size boxes you can pick, and the prices vary by the box and what you want in it. You get to customize the box any way you want it, but it’s better to act fast so you get a chance at what products you like. If you don’t have time, however, they will choose what’s in your box. Its a great way to try new ingredients. They even have recipes on their website for you.

Our first box had cauliflower, brussel sprouts, green onions, spinach, lemons, apples, mushrooms, potatoes, carrots, broccoli, blueberries, avocados, jalapenos, and a yellow onion. We had ordered corn but there was a problem when they filled our box. They emailed us right away and reimbursed the cost of the corn. There are some areas that have to have thirty dollars spent in order to ship to them. Plus there is a shipping fee. We spent about $25. The only thing we probably won’t get again is apples. They were a bit bruised but we did receive ours through FedEx.

We are very excited to get our next box, which we are going to do every other week. If you would like to try it, using my link will save you ten dollars off your first box. http://imprfct.us/v/charles_961
