Monday’s I typically write my blog post for today. That definitely didn’t happen, since I was working with my dad and some other family members. It is a tiring job and I really didn’t feel like writing last night. I really didn’t even know what to write about. While relaxing, I did some brainstorming and came up with this. These are all typical things I do to help me relax, whether I do them all, a select few, or only one. I thought I’d share my small list, in case it does help you. Self care is important and everyone has their favorites, these are just some of mine.
- Take A Shower- fairly simple. You’re hot and dirty from a long day and you just want to wash it all away. I love a long, hot shower to help relax the muscles.
- Listen To Music- I love music so I’ll play some of my softer songs and just lay there listening to them. If I plan on taking a really long shower, I’ll play music in my bathroom too.
- Do Some Skincare- I have a skincare routine for night, but when I need some extra I’ll do a face mask or eye patches. It gives you that little extra feeling of being at a spa.
- Wear Cute PJs- Put on some soft and comfy pajamas. It always makes me feel so cozy and comforted. Bonus points if they have a cute design.
- Indulge A Little- Sometimes a snack is all you need to make your day worth it. Pick out your snack of choice and reward yourself for your long day.
- Light A Candle- Candles can change a whole room’s mood. They smell great and watching the flame flicker is very relaxing.
- Paint Your Nails- This is a little more self care. Even if I had a hard day, I know I can still get something for myself accomplished, even if its just painting my nails.
- Watch A Cartoon- I love cartoons anyways, but they still seem like a treat when I watch them. I’ll pop in a Disney movie and let the show take me away.
- Have A Cup Of Tea or Wine- Depending on the day, and what I have to do the next day, sometimes I’ll have a cup of hot tea or even a glass of wine. Both can help you unwind and they taste great.
- Read- I love reading, so this makes a great treat for me at the end of the day. Plus you can curl up with a book and a blanket, which is super cozy.
- Watch ASMR- I watch ASMR every night. It relaxes me so much and helps me sleep. It is good for stress and anxiety. I’ll link some of my blog posts that talk about it more down below.
That’s it! Those are 11 ways I unwind after a long day. What are some ways you relax and unwind? Let me know! Thank you so much for reading. Until next time.
