This product was sent to me free for review. I’ll still be giving my honest opinion though.
Over the last few years, I’ve been getting more and more into makeup and skincare. I’ve tried many different eye looks and continue to learn all the time. I love watching beauty videos on YouTube and like learning new techniques. When I was asked to try out the Bomb Dot Com palette from Jolie Beauty, I couldn’t resist. These are all my thoughts on this palette.
First off, for being a UK based brand, the palette shipped pretty fast. It arrived very well packaged and in the cutest shipping bag ever. The palette itself has a gorgeous gold slide off cover that matches the palette itself. It has a good sized mirror inside as well. The shade names are a little hard to read because they blend in, but it wasn’t a big deal to me.
I wasn’t sure how I was going to like this palette at first. I had never played around with pressed glitter and wasn’t even sure where to start. I started out by watching a video on their YouTube channel. I didn’t want to mess up and give a bad review if it was something that I was doing wrong. Plus it also insured I didn’t injure myself. Her video was very helpful and full of tips. I started with swatching all the shades. They swatched great, although the first set wasn’t the best but that was my fault.
They did come off my skin easily. I had to use quite a few makeup wipes, but I feel soap and water took it off just as well. There is some glitter fallout on the floor where I swatched them, but not much at all considering. I went ahead and played around with some shades in some eye looks. I tried it first with just an eyeshadow base first. Although there wasn’t anything tacky there, the glitter stuck very well. I did try both finger and brush, and they both worked well. I personally liked using my finger better, but everyone is different. The second look I used a bit of concealer on my lid to help the glitter stick. It helped a lot. It didn’t fall off as much and the glitter was even more pigmented. You do have some fallout while putting on the glitters, so just do your eyes before doing the rest of your makeup. I didn’t try real hard to get it off my face, but the ones I did try on came off easily.
Taking the look off at the end of the day was a bit of a struggle, but I did get it all off. I used several more makeup remover wipes before deciding to just use my face cleanser. It worked so much better using that and I didn’t notice but maybe a few specks of glitter.
I’ve really enjoyed this palette and can’t wait to use it even more. These shades are gorgeous and will be perfect for the holidays. I highly recommend this palette. There are tons of different shades and they’ll last you a long time. The Bomb Dot Com palette would be a perfect gift for anyone in your life who loves beauty and makeup. The do have other pressed glitter palettes as well that are stunning. I’ll leave their website down below if you’d like to get one for yourself or for a gift for someone else. I’ll also leave the link for the video explaining how to use pressed glitter shadows.
Thank you all so much for reading. I’d love it if you’d subscribe to my mailing list where you’ll get post updates twice a week. Until next time!
P.S If someone wanted to get a certain blogger a spectacular gift, Jolie Beauty has a Sorceress palette that I’d love to have 🙂 https://joliebeauty.co.uk/collections/glitter-eyeshadow-palettes/products/sorceress-palette
