November Reads

I got a lot of reading done this month. I’ve really been enjoying books lately and have been finding some great ones. There are a lot of romances, but I did get a few fantasy and mystery books read too. December is going to be full of Christmas books, so subscribe to get the post notification for it!

Romance:

  • Sam & Ilsa’s Last Hurrah by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan- This is a young adult book. I did like it, although it wasn’t my favorite for the month. I really like all the different characters.
  • The Bouquet by Janet Lee Barton, Diann Hunt, Sandra Petit, and Gail Sattler- This was a cute book. It does have Christian elements, one of the first of quite a few this month. I loved the stories in here so much.
  • A Family for Thanksgiving by Patricia Davids- This was a Love Inspired book. I really liked this book, although it ends with a cliffhanger. It’s part of a series so I’ll have to read the next one to find out what happens.
  • Giving Thanks for Baby by Terri Reed- This was also a Love Inspired book. This was a sweet story and I really enjoyed it.
  • Anything For You by Kristan Higgins- I tried to read this book last month and for whatever reason just never could get into it. I tried again this month and loved it. I love the characters so much and Kristan Higgins always does an amazing job with her stories.
  • A Nascar Holiday 2 by Pamela Britton, Gina Wilkins, Ken Casper, and Abby Gaines- This involves two of my favorite things in one: Nascar racing and romance. All the stories in here were written wonderfully and I enjoyed every minute of it.
  • Merry and Bright by Debbie Macomber- This was such a cute book! I loved the story-line and the characters. This was the last book I read this month and it definitely put me in the Christmas mood.

Fantasy:

  • Once Upon A Dream by Nora Roberts, Jill Gregory, Ruth Ryan Langan, and Marianne Willman- There were some great stories in this book. It wasn’t out of this world fantasy which I loved just because simple is sometimes better.
  • Immortal: Love Stories With Bite Edited by P.C. Cast- I love anthologies and this was did not disappoint. Some of the stories were crazy good, while some were a little darker. Very good overall.
  • Last Kiss Goodnight by Gena Showalter- I love this writer, but it did take me a bit to get into this book. This story takes you on a crazy ride but it does leave you with questions. I figure this is the first in a series, which would make perfect sense.
  • The Twilight Before Christmas by Christine Feehan- This was such a great read. This is the second book, but you certainly don’t feel like you miss out on anything if you read them out of order. It is also a bit spooky, so keep that in mind.

Mystery:

  • Grace Cries Uncle by Julie Hyzy- While this was a good book, it wasn’t one of my favorites. There wasn’t anything wrong with it, its purely personal preference.
  • Loyalty in Death by J.D. Robb- This book kept me on edge the whole time I was reading it. I haven’t read a lot of the Eve Dallas series, but every one that I do read is amazing. Plus it doesn’t matter all that much if you read them out of order.

That’s it! I read thirteen books this month. As you can tell, I really enjoyed my romance and fantasy this month. It’ll probably be the same for December, but I’ll try to have a little more variation. Hope you enjoyed reading this! Until next time.
