My Thoughts On Mercari And PangoBooks

I’ve been selling on Mercari and Pango for around six months now, and I thought I’d share all my thoughts and if I am making money, as well as a few tips I would give.

Mercari:

I use Mercari to mostly sell clothes and movies, as well as some accessories. Basically anything but books. While I don’t love the process of adding the items, (you have to take pictures, fill out all the descriptions, etc) since it does take a while, I do enjoy selling on there. I’ve gotten quite a few sells and have just broken $100. It is easy to make deals and get/send offers. The labels print out great too. I will say, you do really need to pay attention to the weight of your item. I’ve had to pay for extra shipping costs a few times and I did not enjoy it at all. I have a lot listed on there still and I’m hoping to make some more sales, especially since I have more to list still.

PangoBooks:

I love this app for both buying and selling. They make it so easy. You just scan the barcode on your books and they figure out most of the details. Sometimes, you do have books that won’t scan or don’t have barcodes so it does take a little longer. They don’t ask for a ton of info on the book though. You will have to weigh your books if you have to input it yourself or if you make a bundle to sell. There has been one time that the books weighed more than the postage covered so I reached out to customer service and they sent me a new label the next day. So easy to contact and I liked that they got back to me quickly and didn’t even charge me for the mess up. I don’t love how the labels print out, but it’s something I’ve been able to work around. I have lots of books on there, and I actually have made more through Pango than I have Mercari.

I am happy that I am making a little money as a side hustle through both of these apps. Hope you enjoyed reading and hopefully my experience has helped you! Until next time.
