March 2025 Books Read

March was a great reading month for me. I mostly enjoyed everything and managed to get through quite a few books I’ve been wanting to get to. Hope you enjoy!

Blaze by Rachel H. Drake

As an energy vampire, healthy relationships don’t come naturally to me and love is the last thing I want. But when a demon named Asher comes into my life and asks for my help, I find myself doing things I wouldn’t have imagined to keep him safe. I never thought of myself as a hero. But a villain? That I can get behind. Asher broke down my walls and I’d do anything to make sure his family doesn’t hurt him ever again. They wanted a cut-throat son. They got his lover instead. And they will pay for what they did.

I enjoyed this. I loved how strong the female main character is. Great plot and very spicy.

The Marriage Hex by Sarah Blue

It was a stupid wish. One that’s come to haunt my doorstep fourteen years later. When I made a pact with my best friend to marry each other if we were both still single at thirty, I had no idea it would be magically bound… by me. Time and circumstance have separated us, and we’re no longer the naïve teenagers we once were. I’m thriving with my coven and Silas is the newly appointed Alpha of the local shifter pack. Which is why this marriage will never work. The Celestial Coven and the Moon Walker Pack have had an ongoing feud that spans generations. My former best friend has now become my sworn enemy. Unfortunately, my magic hasn’t gotten that memo and my nemesis/husband is now living under my roof and walking around my house topless in gray sweatpants. I don’t want him. I shouldn’t want him. But why do I find myself stalling at figuring out a counter curse?

I really enjoyed this! I loved the characters and all the secrets surrounding them.

Lights Out by Navessa Allen

I want someone with a soul as black as night. Someone who would burn the world down for me and not lose a single minute of sleep over it. Trauma nurse Aly Cappellucci doesn’t need any more kinks. She likes the one she’s landed on just fine. To her, nothing could top the masked men she follows online. Unless one of those men was shirtless, heavily tattooed, and waiting for her in her bedroom. She dreams about being hunted by one in particular, of him chasing her down and doing deliciously dark things to her willing body. She never could have guessed that by sending one drunken text, those dreams would become her new reality. I want things most people don’t, craving darkness and depravity instead of light and love. Josh Hammond has spent his life avoiding the limelight, but his online persona is another story. At night, he posts masked thirst traps for his millions of fans to drool over, but one follower has caught his eye: Aly. After reading a comment begging him to break into her house wearing a mask, he decides to take her up on her offer. Together, Aly and Josh live out their darkest fantasies, unaware that Aly has captured the attention of someone else. Someone with far more sinister intentions than a little light stalking. As Josh turns from predator to protector and the stakes heighten, he must ask himself how far he’s willing to go for the woman he’s obsessed with.

I loved this so much! So funny and dark. Josh is my new book boyfriend. The audio was amazing.

The Friend Situation by Lyra Parish

Weston Calloway is the last man I imagined meeting after one of my boring breakups. But there he was, in a dive bar, drinking cheap whiskey, looking like my next favorite mistake. Instead of hooking up, we become secret friends. When his jealous ex stirs up unnecessary drama, Weston asks me to be his fake girlfriend. Things escalate quickly, and we lose control of the situation. Now, we’re roommates, and I’m wearing a diamond ring that he slipped on my finger. This game may be fun, but we agreed to one unbreakable rule—no falling in love. Easy, right? It should be.

I enjoyed this! Weston is amazing and I loved his romance with Carlee.

Always A Fake Bridesmaid by Carrie Ann Ryan

The moment Ewan McBride entered my life, my world tilted on its axis. When we part, I promise him I owe him anything for saving my daughter’s life. What I didn’t expect? Being his fake date to a wedding—in two days. It was only supposed to be a favor, but we can’t deny the attraction. Only he lives a state away and my life is in Colorado with my daughter and the Montgomerys. This can only be one night that feels all too real. Yet I know walking away will be the hardest thing I ever do.

So cute! I loved the characters and the romance.

My Enemy, My Obsession by Lisa Renee Jones

What happens in Hawaii stays in Hawaii….. Sofia has the dream of a lifetime, a chance to attend an annual fashion show for a big department store in Hawaii, and the chance to get her “Zoey” brand (named after her mother)  on the shelves. But while there she crosses paths with intensely good looking Billionaire Ethan Dalton, who has a past with her father, and not a pretty one. But he doesn’t know who she is, and when sparks fly, she lets him believe she’s “Zoey”. The night is as intense as the man and the next morning she doesn’t want to walk away but she’s trapped herself in a Zoey box. She sneaks away.  And that’s the end of it. Until its not. Until she walks into a big presentation for Zoey designs and the head of the table is Ethan. He’s her new boss. And he’s been looking for her.

I really enjoyed this and need to know what happens next!

The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Eugenides

First published in 1993, The Virgin Suicides announced the arrival of a major new American novelist. In a quiet suburb of Detroit, the five Lisbon sisters–beautiful, eccentric, and obsessively watched by the neighborhood boys–commit suicide one by one over the course of a single year. As the boys observe them from afar, transfixed, they piece together the mystery of the family’s fatal melancholy, in this hypnotic and unforgettable novel of adolescent love, disquiet, and death. Jeffrey Eugenides evokes the emotions of youth with haunting sensitivity and dark humor and creates a coming-of-age story unlike any of our time.

This book was so compelling and I couldn’t put it down. The fastest I have ever read a classic.

Kiki’s Delivery Service by Eiko Kadono

Kiki is a trainee witch. On her thirteenth birthday she must follow tradition and leave home to find a new village. She knows she has to use only her powers to make a living, but Kiki’s no good at potions or spells…can she use her flying abilities to make her own way in the world? She sets out with her beloved black cat Jiji on an exciting journey, making new friends along the way.

This was so cute and heartwarming! Very cozy vibes.

The Library of Lost Things by Laura Taylor Namey

From the moment she first learned to read, literary genius Darcy Wells has spent most of her time living in the worlds of her books. There, she can avoid the crushing reality of her mother’s hoarding and pretend her life is simply ordinary. But then Asher Fleet, a former teen pilot with an unexpectedly shattered future, walks into the bookstore where she works…and straight into her heart. For the first time in her life, Darcy can’t seem to find the right words. Fairy tales are one thing, but real love makes her want to hide behind her carefully constructed ink-and-paper wall. Still, after spending her whole life keeping people out, something about Asher makes Darcy want to open up. But securing her own happily-ever-after will mean she’ll need to stop hiding and start living her own truth—even if it’s messy.

I enjoyed this. It was pretty sad and had issues I’m not used to seeing in books.

Ima Koi Volume 1-8 by Ayuko Hatta

After missing out on love and dating because she was too shy to confess her feelings, high school student Satomi blurts out how she feels the next time she gets a crush—and it’s to her impossibly handsome schoolmate Yagyu! To her surprise, he agrees to date her. Now that Satomi’s suddenly in a relationship, what next? Given how fast everything has happened, Satomi is still clueless about how dating is supposed to work. How will she forge ahead in her relationship with Yagyu?

I loved these so much! This is such an adorable manga series and I just need the last book to finish it off.

Ragnarök Volume 1 by Myung-JinLee

In the time when Ragnarok, the fall of the gods, has been predicted to occur, Fenris Fenrir is on a desperate quest to locate the reincarnated Balder, to seek his help in changing the world, before the valkyries find him and civilization is doomed.

This was okay. Kinda confusing and not a series I will continue.

The Fall Risk by Abby Jimenez

It’s Valentine’s Day weekend, and Charlotte and Seth are not looking for romance. Armed with emotional-support bear spray, Charlotte is in self-imposed isolation and on guard from men. Having a stalker can do that to a person’s nerves. Just across the hall and giving off woodsy vibes is Seth, a recently divorced arborist. As in today recently. Heights, he’s fine with. Trust? Not so much. But when disaster traps them one flight up and no way down, an outrageously precarious predicament forces a tree-loving guy and a rattled girl next door to embrace their captivity. Soon their defenses are breaking away. Considering how close they both are to the edge, Charlotte and Seth could be in danger of falling—in love.

This was so sweet! I loved the female empowerment in here and Seth was such a cutie!

The Little Morsel by Rachel Rener and Alora Carter

Feral, a retired war hero with ancient bones and thinning scales, has been living in a dragon retirement home for several centuries. There, his daily routine is always the wake up with creaky joints, force down the stale protein bars from Bites of Knights, avoid the caterwauling old females on the shuffleboard court, and then return to bed to dream of flying. But when a tiny stray human shows up at his front boulder, Feral’s ho-hum world is turned upside down. Once a tentative agreement not to eat this strange little ‘morsel’ is forged, the two of them embark on a journey for applesauce that ends with each of them saving the other’s life – in more ways than one.

This was so cute and I loved reading from the grumpy dragon’s perspective.

Ladies Night by Dakota Cockaday

Two years ago, Kat swore off men and never got around to “unswearing” them. Tonight, she’ll get dragged out to a club in the sticks…a club run by creatures. Maybe she’ll get lucky and stumble upon her Prince Charming, or maybe not. One thing’s certain, though – no matter how many kisses are shared, the awkward guy with leathery green skin that she takes home tonight won’t be turning into a regular human boyfriend anytime soon. But maybe that’s a good thing…

This was cute, just not long enough for me.

All I’ve Got by Marissa Ann

I’ve spent my whole life in the spotlight. From star athlete in high school to the major leagues in the blink of an eye. When an injury suddenly ends my career, I return home a celebrity. The problem with that is I don’t want to be a celebrity. I want to teach kids, give them the chances that I had when I was kid. My best friend gets me the job I’ve always wanted. Coaching the Little League All Star team from his hometown. So I pack up and move as fast as I can to live my dream working with kids. One in particular catches my eye but local politics might prevent him from becoming the star player I know he can be. That young man is not the only one that catches my eye in this town though. Can his mom overcome the years of abuse and gossip this town has piled on her? I don’t know, but I’m going to give it all I’ve got to make her mine.

This was good, just not long enough for me too.

Petals and Plot Twists by Jenny Proctor

Sophie Stewart knows a lot about plants. The rooftop garden she tends and beautifies is ample evidence of that. What she doesn’t know is anything about love, not with her long track record of always picking the wrong guy. But then a mystery flower pops up in her garden—a flower that only blooms in the presence of true love. Never one to shy away from a little magic, Sophie convinces her best friend, Peter, to help her use the flower to find her soulmate. But after an unexpected kiss with the one man she never thought she’d fall for, Sophie starts to wonder if she’s looking for love in all the wrong places. The flower has a plan, but only Sophie can decide if she wants to trust it or take fate into her own hands.

This was so cute! I loved the romance and the characters. Very cozy.

Deep Pockets by Nana Malone

I was never supposed to have a crush on my best friend’s little sister. Morgan is too young. Too innocent. And she’s in far too much danger. I’ve built a legitimate empire in New York, far from the life of shadows and violence in which I was raised. I’m heir to a dark throne. When she needs temporary shelter, I allow her to crash at my place. Being this close to her, without touching her, hurts like hell. But I can play the white knight for a few weeks. I have to stay away from her, even while I keep her safe. Even if it means not touching her beautiful body. Even if it means seeing the hurt in her eyes. Then my former life comes crashing in. She doesn’t know how deep the stakes go—and I can’t afford to let her find out. Protecting her means keeping her close, even if it means risking everything, including my own heart.

I enjoyed this! So hard to put down and I can’t wait for the next book.

The Secrets of Blackthorn Hall by Cassandra Clare

Julian and Emma are on their travel year when the Clave sends Julian a message: clean up Blackthorn Hall or ownership reverts back to the Clave. Amidst the clutter and disrepair they discover secrets that Blackthorn Hall has kept hidden for years… They find out something… or someone… else might be sharing the space with them. They’ll also entertain visitors like Jem, Tessa, Cristina, Mark, Kieran, Kit, Ty, Dru and more.

I loved this! This whole book is written in texts, letters, and diary entries and include so many of my favorite characters. The mystery element was great too. The artwork in here was stunning!

Those are all the books I read this month! Hope you enjoyed. Until next time.
