Love Around Us

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! Hope you all are having a great day today. Valentine’s Day can be hard for some people whether its because you’re single and feel you’re missing out or because your loved one is not with you. I have never been in a relationship near February 14th and it used to bother me so much. I used to watch all the gift giving and feel so sad and empty. Now, not so much. I have so much love around me. It may not be in the form of romance for me, but I can appreciate seeing it in others.

There are so many great couples in my family that have really shown me what love should be. Love is simple, happy, and worth it. Sure, everyone fights sometime, but if you put the work into your relationship it will thrive. My whole extended family is pretty great. Everyone is there for each other no matter what. We all care about each other and that’s important. Every family fights, and that’s okay. Relationships can be hard, romantic or not.

My parents have been married for thirty-four years and are a true testament to love. They met pretty much right out of high school and after about six months got married. Nobody thought they’d make it, but here they are, still together. There are times that they struggle and fight but in the end, their love is forever. That’s the kind of love I want. The kind that lasts a lifetime. (I know you’re reading this Mama. I love you <3)

Today’s culture is pretty much hook up culture. If that’s what you’re into, that’s totally fine. You do you girl. I just have never been able to get into those kind of relationships. I want to be swept off my feet and fall completely in love. I guess that’s what happens when you love faity tales as much as I do. I know I may not get exactly what I want in a guy, and that’s okay. I know God has someone picked out for me. He’ll be great, I just know it. If you too are struggling, keep your faith. You’ll meet someone too. It just takes a lot of patience and a lot of frogs unfortunately.

Thank you all for reading. Hope everyone has a happy Valentine’s Day. I’d like to give a big thank you to all the couples out there that have stuck together and have given some of us “relationship goals”. To all the singles out there, your time is coming. Keep being strong and happy. Love with everything you have. Until next time 🙂
