How I Spent My Birthday

My birthday was Wednesday (June 23rd) and I had a really good day. I got to explore Kerrville for the first time, got a few gifts, and even bought myself a few things. I thought it would be fun to talk about my day and even give a few recommendations on places to go in Kerrville, Texas.

Wednesday morning I went over to my parents after getting ready and my mom made homemade pancakes. We ate then did presents. From them I got:

  • a ceramic owl
  • a “neck rock” necklace (this is something from The Croods: A New Age)- my dad made this lol
  • Potions and Pastries by Bailey Cates
  • Spells and Scones by Bailey Cates
  • Sea of Thieves Xbox game
  • they also paid for part of my new phone- a Samsung Galaxy S21 5G

We then took off for Kerrville. We spent most of the day shopping at Hobby Lobby (I only bought stickers), Specs (also bought something), and Dollar Tree (got snacks and a phone cable for my new phone) before heading to a Salvation Army. They were having a Wacky Wednesday sale, which meant everything was half off! I bought a lot of books, but I’ll save that haul for my book haul next Tuesday (subscribe for email notifications!).

We then went to eat at Billy Gene’s Restaurant. We ordered an appetizer as well as meals. It was so good! The restaurant was so cool and everyone very friendly. Here’s their website: Billy Gene’s Restaurant | Flavors of the Texas Hill Country (billygenes.com). We ate way too much and it was getting late so we started making our way home.

We stopped off in Hondo to go to Walmart for phone cases and a few other things. I found a pretty good phone case and was hoping to find the complete first season of Fruits Basket, but unfortunately did not. I’ll have to buy it someday.

We spent the rest of the evening just relaxing and setting up our new phones (my dad got one too). All in all it was a great birthday. I got a ton of birthday wishes which I appreciate so much. I did get a few more gifts from other people:

  • a mood octopus plushie (my cousin)
  • Delirium by Lauren Oliver (my cousin)
  • Birthday Girl by Penelope Douglas (a new bookish friend of Instagram)

Thank you all so much for reading! I hope you enjoyed this. Until next time.
