December Reads

This month I got a lot of books read even though I worked quite a bit and had the holidays in there as well. I have thirteen books to get through, so I’ve better get started. I’m doing it a bit different this month, so hope you like it!

Wedding planner Lexi Harrington needs a manager for her inherited Wyoming ranch. Clint Romine is the perfect man for the job, but the ruggedly handsome cowboy soon presents a new dilemma—distraction. Lexi can’t fall for a small-town rancher when she’s planning to return to her big-city career after the holidays. Home has always been elusive for former foster kid Clint. Working alongside Lexi at Rock Step Ranch feels too cozy—and too risky. Opening up to her means revealing a secret about his past that could jeopardize everything he holds dear. This Christmas, can Clint learn to trust Lexi with the truth…and with his heart?

This was such a sweet read! I did tear up a few times, but I really enjoyed this book.

A BABY FOR CHRISTMAS * Lisa Jackson
The uneventful Christmas Annie McFarlane expected is suddenly anything but. First, there’s the adorable baby left on the snowy doorstep of her Oregon cabin. Second, there’s the extremely attractive, yet extremely angry man claiming to be the father. Liam O’Shaughnessy may be intimidating, but this is one precious gift Annie isn’t giving up so easily . . .
WHAT THE COWBOY WANTS FOR CHRISTMAS * Maisey Yates
When Meg O’Neill’s longtime boyfriend lets her down, again, on Christmas no less, she braves an Oregon blizzard to get to her best friend Noah’s comforting arms. But this time Noah’s not telling her what she wants to hear—he’s telling her the truth, from his heart . . .
 SNOWED IN * Stacy Finz
Rachel Johnson has found the perfect spot for her second Tart Me Up bakery in Glory Junction, California. Except she’s in fierce competition with hunky bar owner Boden Farmer. Worse, while the icy rivals await the city’s decision, they end up catering the same Christmas Eve mountaintop wedding—and getting snowed in . . .
A COWBOY WEDDING FOR CHRISTMAS * Nicole Helm
Big city art teacher Lindsay Tyler isn’t just back home in Colorado for her brother’s wedding at the Barton Christmas Tree Farm and Ranch. She’s back for good. She just hasn’t told anyone yet—including Cal Barton, the ex-boyfriend she left behind . . .

I loved all of these stories. There were a few I liked more than others, but they were all worth the read.

Lindsay’s stuck on a holiday ski trip with the class mean girl- but the real bully may be a restless ghost who needs her help.

This book was a bit young for me, but I had to finish it. It would be a great one for a middle school aged child.

Sherrilyn Kenyon heats up an office where two coworkers decide to spend the holidays together–only to find themselves surrendering completely to forbidden passion . . . “Love Bytes”
Carly Phillips explores a “mistletoe moment” when a no-nonsense lawyer intent on seducing her boss meets his twin instead–and gives him a scintillating kiss that leaves him begging for more . . . “Naughty Under the Mistletoe”
Patricia Ryan surprises a cynical P.I., who meets the kind of woman he never wanted–until she takes him on a journey of rapturous pleasure . . . “Santa, Baby”
Kathryn Smith teases a pair of Regency lovers who once shared a night of white-hot passion with the temptation to forgo propriety for something scandalous and irresistible . . . “A Christmas Charade”

There were some great stories in this book! I had already read the one by Carly Phillips, but I didn’t mind reading it again.

Family’s all Ellery Marshall wants for Christmas. To connect with her long-lost brothers, she travels to Castle Falls and instantly falls for the innkeeper’s five-year-old granddaughter, Bea. Carter Bristow—Bea’s handsome father—has given up on love. But Bea hasn’t given up on him, and Ellery could be the answer to her holiday wish to make Daddy happy again.

I loved this book so much. It was such a good story and it was very heartwarming.

Santa, Baby by Sherryl Woods
When Amy Riley’s son disappears in the mall, Santa–who is actually police officer Nick DiCaprio–comes to the rescue. Whoever said the Big Red Guy wasn’t sexy?
Assignment Humbug by Darlene Gardner
Retail manager Joy O’Connell is fraying at the edges when rheumatologist Ed Hall and his three child-terrors enter her store. Between shopping hell and bah humbug, can Ed uncover the true Joy of the season? Deck the Halls by Holly Jacobs
TV reporter Merry Deluca’s “’tis the season to be greedy” story is about to get complicated–her new cameraman is recently ex-fianc Patrick MacFarland! And he’s got a whole new angle for her story….

These were all pretty good stories. I love Sherryl Woods, and while I hadn’t ever read the other two author’s work, I still liked them.

Back in his hometown to help his family, rancher-turned-businessman Max St. James has no intention of staying beyond the holidays. But the more time he spends with his sister’s wedding planner, Sierra Lawson, the more the small town he left behind feels like home again. Falling for Sierra wasn’t part of his plan, but he’s never wanted anything more for Christmas.

Brenda Minton is an amazing writer, so I knew I was going to like this book. I loved Sierra and the way her character changed throughout the book.

Meet cute…
Run for the hills—temporarily. That’s Colbie Albright’s plan when she flees New York for San Francisco. Wrangling her crazy family by day and writing a bestselling YA fantasy series by night has taken its toll. In short, Colbie’s so over it that she’s under it. She’s also under the waters of a historic San Francisco fountain within an hour of arrival. Fortunately, the guy who fishes Colbie out has her looking forward to Christmas among strangers. But she’s pretty sure Spencer Baldwin won’t be a stranger for long.
Make merry…
Spence’s commitment to hiding from the Ghosts of Relationships Past means he doesn’t have to worry about the powerful—okay, crazy hot chemistry—he’s got with Colbie. Just because she can laugh at anything, especially herself… just because she’s gorgeous and a great listener just because she gets Spence immediately doesn’t mean he won’t be able to let Colbie go. Does it?
and hope for a miracle.
Now the clock’s ticking for Colbie and Spence: Two weeks to cut loose. Two weeks to fall hard. Two weeks to figure out how to make this Christmas last a lifetime.

I read this book so fast just because of how good it was. I’m pretty sure I finished it in a day if that says anything.

In #1 New York Times bestselling author Christine Feehan’s “Rocky Mountain Miracle,” the sparks flying on a remote ranch could melt all the snow in Wyoming when an injured horse brings together a rugged womanizer with a dangerous reputation and an irresistible veterinarian rumored to cast spells. But does her magic touch work on animals and men?A small town woman is shocked when the injured wolf she takes back to her kennel turns into a man in New York Times bestselling author Susan Sizemore’s “A Touch of Harry.” The only thing more difficult to hide than his stunning escape is the burning desire she feels for this stranger who brings out her wild side.

I love Christine Feehan and read a lot of her books. This story was really dark so it did take me a bit to read it but it was so good. The second story in there was just that bit of light fun you needed to read at the end of the first one.

Returning home to Vermont, Jonas Concannon meets his first love, single mother Bridget O’Shea, and, with some holiday magic, finds himself back in her life and falling in love with her and her daughter Molly.

I don’t know what it was about this book, but I didn’t really like it. There wasn’t anything wrong, I just wasn’t excited about reading it.

Sherryl Woods “The Perfect Holiday” What was a holiday without a handsome husband? To Aunt Mae, it wasn’t very festive at all! So she sent the perfect man to her single niece, Savannah Holiday. But would wealthy bachelor Trace Franklin become a groom-to-be by Christmastime? Beverly Barton “Faith, Hope and Love”
After one passionate night, Faith Sheridan found herself pregnant with her sexy bodyguard’s child. Now she hoped the news of their secret child would be a welcome gift to Worth Cordell this holiday — and the beginning of a lifetime of love . . . Leanne Banks “A Rancher in Her Stocking”
This Christmas, spirited schoolteacher Amy Winslow was sharing a home with a ruggedly handsome rancher! Now if only she could teach tight-lipped Lucas Bennett that the holidays were meant to be merry. And that he was made for love!

I loved all of these stories. You got romance, sorrow, and even some mystery/crime thrown in there. Really liked all three.

From Main Street’s shop windows to the wreath on her own front door, Abbey Wilson’s hometown was a picture of holiday cheer. But Abbey knew Christmas would not bring her joy or peace. Not when Gabe Kendall remained captive in a cold fortress of grief. A tragic accident had claimed Gabe’s family and robbed him of his faith. Now, not even Abbey’s warmth and gentleness could touch his wintry heart. Yet, her hope persisted. Maybe this Christmas love would work miracles.…

I could not put this book down. It was so good and I cried quite a few times throughout. Definitely amazing.

On yet another pointless errand for her boss, Rory runs into the handsome, Dr. Camden. Despite knowing it might get her in trouble, Rory can’t resist falling for Cam’s refreshing honesty and easy-going attitude.
But Cam’s got a sticky past and before Rory falls for him, she has to find out the truth. Not only does she discover it, she uncovers a scary secret he’s been hiding that proves his life is not only in danger, but that also puts her heart in jeopardy of breaking.

Oh my, this book. I cried way too much but I am in love with it. I got this for free in a Goodreads giveaway and could never be happier. This was honestly my favorite for the month.

That’s all of them! I know this was a long post, but I wanted to let you read the blurb on them all. I really like the way this turned out and will probably do it for my monthly reads in 2021. Subscribe for more of these! Until next time.
