Christmas Traditions

A while back at a baby shower, we had to write down a Christmas tradition that we do as a family. Since then, I’ve been thinking about them even more. My family has quite a few, more than I realized actually. With Christmas only a week away, I thought I’d share some of my favorites.

Christmas Lights- One night around Christmas, my parents and I go drive around and look at the Christmas lights. We’ll get something warm to drink, find some good Christmas music and go enjoy all the lights. We missed out last year, but I’m hoping we get to go this year.

White Elephant- When we get together with my dad’s family, we all play white elephant. We have such a large family and this is a way to not spend as much money but still give gifts. We always have so much fun and end up laughing way too much.

Cut-Out Cookies- Since I was a kid, we’ve made cut-out cookies and decorated them as a family. It is something we still do, although I usually end up cutting all of them out now. We do still decorate them together though.

Christmas Day- Christmas has always just been the three of us. We’ll get up early (I still can’t sleep in), open our stockings and presents, and have a yummy breakfast. We usually spend the rest of the day watching Christmas movies.

Those are a few of my family traditions. What are some of yours? Hope you enjoyed this. Until next time.
