This past week we took a short trip to Kerrville. We had a great time, even though it was too hot to do much of anything. This time I’ll mostly be talking about what we did and food places we tried. Hope you enjoy!
Rio Ranch Cafe
We ate here for breakfast when we’ve come before, and had to go back here again. Their food is so good and we all tried something different this time. I got the french toast which comes with bacon, my mom got their biscuits and gravy but I didn’t get a picture, my dad got the smoked brisket hash, and we got a cinnamon roll to split. All of it was sooo good! I think the cinnamon roll was my favorite but I enjoyed all that I tried. Their website: https://therioranchcafe.com/
The Lakehouse Restaurant
This was our first time eating here and we will definitely be back! The food was amazing and the portions were large. My dad got the catfish, shrimp and shrimp plate with cole slaw, fried okra, and rice. I got the grilled chicken with french fries, sweet potato fries, and fried okra. My mom got chicken strips with rice and mashed potatoes. I tried the shrimp and actually really liked it even though I’m not a shrimp fan. The hush puppies were amazing! We did do some shopping as well. We went to the Salvation Army, Goodwill, Hill Country Youth Ranch Thrift Store, Books to Share, and Entertainmart. I did get a lot of books on this trip… I did just put them all in my book haul for August so you won’t have to look at all of them twice. I did get a few other things like some dog salt and pepper shakers and a dress but mostly just bought books. I really liked Books to Share- it was a new place for me. If you do go there, bring some books to trade in. It will help get your books even cheaper and is something I will do next time. Entertainmart was huge and full of all sorts of things. I enjoyed it in there, but the prices were pretty steep on quite a bit that I would have bought. I did still end up getting quite a bit of stuff from there anyways though.
