With Valentine’s Day only three days away, the time to plan is near. Whether you’re single or part of a couple I have ideas for you that aren’t “dinner and a movie”. Valentine’s Day is not about outdoing anyone or proving how much you love someone. It’s about celebrating your love for one another, romantic or not. Hope some of these ideas help!
For the single lady/guy
Staying in ideas:
- Movie night- Can be with friends or just by yourself. Look at these pages for suggestions: https://alittlebiteoflife.com/romance-movies-for-valentines-day/ https://alittlebiteoflife.com/sad-romance-movies/
- Have a spa night- Take a night to pamper yourself. Paint your nails, do a facemask, light a candle, and/or take a bubble bath. Just relax.
- Dinner with friends- This can be done at home or away. Everyone can bring a dish and just enjoy each other’s company away from a crowded restaurant.
- Have a craft night- Making crafts is always fun whether you’re by yourself or with a group. Go to the dollar store and go wild. There are so many crafts you can make for so cheap. If you’re doing this with a group, get together everything you need for the craft and trade off with someone. Do a “white elephant” with craft sets, then have fun creating something.
- Video games- Play that new video game you’ve been wanting to play. Try to beat your high score. Go on a raid. Play whateve you like to play. Don’t forget the snacks! https://alittlebiteoflife.com/valentines-day-treats/
Going out ideas:
- Get a massage/ go to a spa- You’d have to go during the day, but a day to relax is the best. If you have friends that can go, the day will be even better.
- Brunch and Mimosas- A great way to celebrate your friendship. Find a restaurant you all love and go wild.
- A scenic drive- This is a great way to spend the day either by yourself or with friends. You get great scenery plus you can listen to all your favorite love songs.
- Painting- Go somewhere like Painting with a Twist. They show you how to create a painting and you get to drink booze while putting your own twist on the artwork. If you buy the supplies, you could even do this at your home.
- Dancing- There are so many dance halls and clubs open on Friday nights so you’ll have a great selection. Let your hair down and dance the night away!
For couples:
- Zoo/aquarium- A fun daytime date idea that will last quite a while. You get to spend more time together while looking at animals.
- Theater- Buy a couple tickets and go see a show. Its a great way to get dressed up and try something new.
- Concert/rodeo- A fun way to spend time with each other with music. Sing along and appreciate your time together.
- Dancing- What’s more romantic than holding your partner close on the dance floor?
- Comedy club- A couple that loves to laugh together will really enjoy this.
- Hot air balloon ride- This would definitely be a unique date. Just make sure they like heights first!
- Amusement park/ carnival- Go ride some rides together. Spend some time together in a fun environment filled with couples.
- Botanical gardens- This is more relaxed, but romantic none the less. This will make her think of Romeo and Juliet, but with a happy ending.
- Indoor rock climbing- More adventure, of course. This will get the adrenaline pumping. Best part is, you can have a race to the top. Winner gets a kiss 🙂
- Bowling- Something simple but very nostalgic. You get a little competition. If you’re both terrible then it’s a chance to get to laugh at each other.
- Mini golf- Again, something simple but fun.
- Night in- Have some time to yourselves away from everyone. Cook food together. Eat desserts. Play some games together. Just take some times to spend with each other.
Hope these ideas help! Comment below and let me know how you’ll be spending Valentine’s Day. Being single, I’ll probably stay home and have a spa day followed by lots of movies. Plus lots of chocolate covered strawberries! If not, I’ll probably go out with my cousin. Either way it’ll be a great time. Hope you all have a Happy Valentine’s Day. Until next time.
