Sad Romance Movies

With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, the countdown for couples begin. Whether you are single or in a relationship, movies are great for anyone. I know I love romance movies. They’re probably my favorite genre to be honest. I figured I’d share some of my favorites that never fail to bring tears to my eyes. Not all love stories end happy, but it doesn’t make them any less of a great movie.

  • The Time Travelers Wife-It has been a long time since I’ve seen this movie but I remember it being so sad. I can only imagine waiting for my true love, never knowing if he’s going to be coming back. Yet she tries anyways.
  • Me Before You-If you want ugly crying with laughter thrown in, this would be the movie for you. I love this movie so much, even though it is very heartbreaking.
  • P.S. I Love You-This movie has many sad moments that really touch the heart. It also has moving on after a death too though. Finding love again. I’ve watched this movie so many times and still love it. Plus Gerard Butler is in it 🙂
  • The Fault In Our Stars-Another movie that will make you ugly cry. It too is super good and even funny. Cancer is hard to see, but younger people with cancer is even worse.
  • Midnight Sun-I loved the love story in this movie. I watched it once and have never again. I don’t know if I ever will. Its an unforgettable movie and I hate to say it but it leaves you feeling slightly empty after you watch it.
  • If I Stay-This movie has a lot going for it, even though it is pretty tragic. The flashbacks are sweet and full of teen love and make it a little more lighthearted.
  • Moulin Rouge-This is probably one of my favorites. It has great music, a “circus” setting, and an epic love story. Even though it doesn’t end well, this movie is amazing. If you watch any that are on this list, watch this one.
  • Nicholas Sparks movies-Nicholas Sparks is a great writer and many of his books have been made into movies. Most likely, you will tear up. I haven’t seen every movie that has come out yet, so I’ll include the ones I have.
    • Dear John:
    • Safe Haven:
    • The Last Song:
    • The Longest Ride: (my favorite)
    • The Lucky One:
    • The Best Of Me:
    • The Notebook:
    • A Walk To Remember:

Thank you so much for reading! Hope this gives you some movie ideas. I’ll have happier movies listed next week. Until next time.
