11 Wedding Book Recommendations

With Summer being the most popular season for weddings, I wanted to give some book recommendations to put you in the mood. June is the most popular wedding month at 10.8% (source: June Wedding Facts and Statistics – The Inspired Bride) so I wanted to make this post this month. I love weddings and I do like reading about them as well. I have read all the books that I listed down below and really like them. Most of these are romances, but I did throw in a fantasy as well. Hope you enjoy!

My Big Fat Supernatural Wedding by Sherrilyn Kenyon, Charlaine Harris, Jim Butcher, and more: An “ordinary” wedding can get crazy enough, so can you imagine what happens when otherworldly creatures are involved? Nine of the hottest authors of paranormal fiction answer that question in this delightful collection of supernatural wedding stories. What’s the seating plan when rival clans of werewolves and vampires meet under the same roof? How can a couple in the throes of love overcome traps set by feuding relatives—who are experts at voodoo? Will you have a good marriage if your high-seas wedding is held on a cursed ship? How do you deal with a wedding singer who’s just a little too good at impersonating Elvis? Shape-shifters, wizards, and magic, oh my!

Such a fun take on weddings! It isn’t Summer related, but still a great wedding read.

Save The Date by Morgan Matson: Charlie Grant’s older sister is getting married this weekend at their family home, and Charlie can’t wait for the first time in years, all four of her older siblings will be under one roof. Charlie is desperate for one last perfect weekend, before the house is sold and everything changes. The house will be filled with jokes and games and laughs again. Making decisions about things like what college to attend and reuniting with longstanding crush Jesse Foster all that can wait. She wants to focus on making the weekend perfect. The only problem? The weekend is shaping up to be an absolute disaster. There’s the unexpected dog with a penchant for howling, house alarm that won’t stop going off, and a papergirl with a grudge. There are the relatives who aren’t speaking, the (awful) girl her favorite brother brought home unannounced, and a missing tuxedo. Not to mention the neighbor who seems to be bent on sabotage and a storm that is bent on drenching everything. The justice of the peace is missing. The band will only play covers. The guests are all crazy. And the wedding planner’s nephew is unexpectedly, distractedly cute. Over the course of three ridiculously chaotic days, Charlie will learn more than she ever expected about the family she thought she knew by heart. And she’ll realize that sometimes, trying to keep everything like it was in the past means missing out on the future.

This was a super sweet, crazy read. I loved this book a lot.

Summer Brides by Susan Wiggs, Sherryl Woods, and Susan Mallery: The Borrowed Bride by Susan Wiggs-
During her own bridal shower, Isabel Wharton is whisked away by past love Dan Black Horse to his retreat in the Cascade range. But returning to her Native roots, and Dan’s loving arms, is harder than she ever imagined. A Bridge to Dreams by Sherryl Woods-With her vacation plans foiled, Karyn Chambers realizes that her long-awaited escape must give way to staying at home in San Francisco. Little does she know her Prince Charming is right in her own backyard. Sister of the Bride by Susan Mallery-When Katie McCormick finds out that her sister is marrying her ex, she finally agrees to a setup for the big day. To her surprise, Jackson is a catch. But when wedding catastrophe ensues, will their sparks fizzle or ignite into flames?

Can’t go wrong with a book titled Summer Brides to read. I really enjoyed all three of these stories.

Once And For All by Sarah Dessen: Louna, daughter of famed wedding planner Natalie Barrett, has seen every sort of wedding: on the beach, at historic mansions, in fancy hotels and clubs. Perhaps that’s why she’s cynical about happily-ever-after endings, especially since her own first love ended tragically. When Louna meets charming, happy-go-lucky serial dater Ambrose, she holds him at arm’s length. But Ambrose isn’t about to be discouraged, now that he’s met the one girl he really wants.

This was such a great book! I love Sarah Dessen’s books so much.

To Have and to Hold by Betsy St. Amant, Becky Wade, and Katie Ganshers: Meet the people who make it all happen—the planners, the photographers, the musicians who have helped orchestrate the perfect day for countless couples—as they find their own happy endings in the second Year of Weddings novella collection. Love Takes the Cake by Betsy St. Amant– She’s known for her delicious cakes, but there’s no recipe for dealing with the new man in her life. Charlotte Cantrell is always the baker; never the bride. When Will, a regular at Charlotte’s bakery, catches her attention, she can only hope that he is the reliable man this single mother has always hoped to find. The problem is that he’s regularly stopping in to buy cookies for another girl. But when Charlotte is hired to bake a host of wedding goodies for a difficult bride and finds out Will is the best man, she has the perfect opportunity to get to know him better—and find out how serious Will is about this other girl in his life. The Perfect Arrangement by Katie Ganshert-Meeting Nate was truly an accident—but Amelia finds that he’s one of the few people she can count on. Amelia Woods is a small-town wallflower and the proud owner of Forget-Me-Nots, a quaint flower shop. Despite her success in business, her love life has always been a bit lackluster. Until she spies on her ex-boyfriend’s wedding and ends up in an embarrassing fender-bender with handsome wedding guest, Nate Gallagher. Meanwhile, Amelia’s younger brother, William, has proposed to his girlfriend. Amelia would be excited except she has evidence that the fiancée is not who she says she is. It seems Nate is the only one available for any advice-giving, and he’s good at it—and pretty fun to talk to, too. As Amelia works to craft the perfect flower arrangements for other people—including a ninety-year-old “fairy godmother” named George—she begins to wonder if real love is better than the dream. And if it is, will Nate still be interested when he learns who she is? Love in the Details by Becky Wade– She left him to save his future, but they’ve never gotten over each other. When Josh returns to his hometown of Martinsburg, Texas, to help his best friend get married, he didn’t intend to run into church wedding coordinator—and ex-girlfriend—Holly. He can’t help but pine after the girl he never got over. Holly broke up with Josh years ago in an attempt to ensure his future success. But she loved him then and still loves him now. As she helps him plan his best friend’s wedding, she can’t help but feel horrible for the pain she caused him. And even though she longs to be with Josh, she doesn’t feel worthy of his big-time lifestyle when she is more comfortable in her small town world. Will Josh and Holly be able to keep things as they are when their true feelings threaten to surface at every turn?

While this is full of Autumn weddings, they are all such sweet love stories.

I Only Have Eyes For You by Bella Andre: The only woman Jake McCann wants is the one he can never have. But even though he knows loving Sophie Sullivan isn’t the right thing to do…how can he possibly resist? Sophie Sullivan, a librarian in San Francisco, was five years old when she fell head over heels in love with Jake McCann. Twenty years later, she’s convinced the notorious bad boy still sees her as the “nice” Sullivan twin. That is, when he bothers to look at her at all. But when they both get caught up in the magic of the first Sullivan wedding, she knows it’s long past time to do whatever it takes to make him see her for who she truly is…the woman who will love him forever. Jake has always been a magnet for women, especially since his Irish pubs made him extremely wealthy. But the only woman he really wants is the one he can never have. Not only is Sophie his best friend’s off-limits younger sister…he can’t risk letting her get close enough to discover his deeply hidden secret. Only, when Sophie appears on his doorstep as Jake’s every fantasy come to life—smart, beautiful, and shockingly sexy—he doesn’t have a prayer of taking his eyes, or his hands, off her. And he can’t stop craving more of her sweet smiles and sinful kisses. Because even though Jake knows loving Sophie isn’t the right thing to do…how can he possibly resist?

This book starts off with a wedding and that is what starts the love story between Jake and Sophie. I love this book and it is probably my favorite of Bella Andre’s that I have read.

The Wedding Arbor by Valerie Hansen: With a heart full of hope, Sara Stone took refuge in the serenity of the Ozarks. But she never counted on getting stranded in the middle of a raging storm. Like a godsend, brooding ex-cop Adam Callahan gallantly offered her shelter in his mountainside cabin. And although she knew that her trusting nature had gotten her into trouble before, a smitten Sara vowed to bring joy back into Adam’s lonely life. Adam had cut himself off from faith and love a long time ago with good reason. But despite his self-imposed isolation, his adorable houseguest touched his world-weary soul. He’d thought his chance for peace and happiness was gone, but now he wondered what the future would hold if he conquered the shadows of the past and married the woman of his dreams…

This is a sweet Love Inspired book and I really liked it.

French-To end the feuding between two proud Scottish clans, a truce is declared: the eldest daughter of the MacNeil tribe will wed the fierce warrior chieftain, Calum MacKenzie. The only way to avoid a full-blown scandal is for Amelia and Chance to hunt them down and bring them back — in time to discover that true love never fades away … it only gets sweeter …

It has been a long time since I’ve read this, but it is just a sweet little anthology.

Date With Destiny by Kristine Rolofson, Muriel Jensen, and Kristin Gabriel: Widow Carmen Perez was about to sell her historic building at 10 Sandringham Drive in Seattle to Katherine Kinard for her day-care center. But what would happen to Carmen’s sons, who lived there now? Carmen dreamed of having daughters-in-law, a house full of grandchildren…and Carmen was a woman who believed in giving destiny a helping hand… A package marked “R.Perez” arrived on the doorstep of 10 Sandringham Drive. Inside was a tuxedo. But for which R. Perez – Rick, Rafe, or Rob? The brothers didn’t need a tux, so Rick stashed it away. But fate hadn’t sent this tuxedo to sit in a closet. It was destined to lead each of these men to the altar!

I really liked this book. It isn’t wedding centered, but it does still have wedding vibes.

The Bride Quartet by Nora Roberts (Vision in White, Bed of Roses, Savor the Moment, and Happy Ever After)
: Four childhood friends have teamed up to form Vows, one of Connecticut’s premier wedding planning companies. Parker, Emma, Laurel, and Mac have become experts at making every bride’s dreams come true. But when they’re faced with the whims of their own hearts, things never go as planned….

This series is amazing! I’ve read and reread this so many times and I still adore it. Such a great read that is full of weddings.

For All Time by Jude Deveraux: The wedding of Alix Madsen and Jared Montgomery is a glorious affair at an elegant little chapel in the woods, followed by dinner and dancing, all while moonlight blankets the festivities in a romantic glow. While most guests are fixed on the happy couple, Jared’s cousin Graydon can’t look away from a bridesmaid, Toby Wyndam. It’s not just her quiet beauty that enthralls him or the way she makes him laugh. Toby possesses the truly remarkable ability of being able to distinguish Graydon from his identical twin brother, Rory. According to family legend, such a gift marks her as Graydon’s True Love. But Graydon knows there is no possible way that they can ever be together, for he is heir to the Lanconian throne and is to marry a noble woman who has been chosen for him. Yet, intrigued by Toby, he asks her to help him hide on Nantuck for a week away from regal responsibilities. In exchange, he’ll assist her with planning acclaimed novelist Victoria Madsen’s lavish wedding. Since they both know their union is impossible, the pair promises that they will never be more than just friends. But there’s more going on between Graydon and Toby than her unique power to tell him apart from his twin. At work are forces beyond their control, which are ruled by time itself. Combine that with the magical island of Nantucket, and a seductive spell is cast over Graydon and Toby. If they are to be together, they must change what once was, as well as what will be.

It has been a long time since I’ve read this but from what I remember I did really like it. Plus it has a wedding in it.

Thank you all for reading! Whether you have a summer wedding you are going to or just like wedding related books, hope this helped get you in the spirit. Until next time.
